Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessHi everyone,
We are ready for final! The problem submitted by René (http://trac.impresscms.org/core/ticket/861) about IE6 and IE7 and ACP is not completely fixed for IE6 but we can live with that. The site is still usable anyway. The other problem (http://trac.impresscms.org/core/ticket/862) was submitted by me and was causing a fatal error in last step of installation. The problem was found and fixed. So we are ready to go. What needs done: * Creating the packages (marcan) * Testing integrity of the packages * Writing the announcement * Updating our "blue download blocks" * Updating the download page on www * Updating changelog in wiki * Updating release notes in wiki * Updating www.impresscms.org/download link (marcan) * Updating www version checker XML (marcan) I've marked what I will do. We need your help for the rest! |

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessMarc asked me to build the packages - he had some family things to do.
You can get the packages from - http://community.impresscms.org/testing-packages/packages/impresscms_1.2_final.zip and http://community.impresscms.org/testing-packages/packages/impresscms_1.2_final.tar.gz One thing we have discovered is the tar.gz file does not download properly over http from the impresscms.org site. I've verified this on the past few releases - with FTP upload and download, the package is fine. This is only when downloading from the impresscms.org site, When downloading from SourceForge, it works great. Those with FTP access can verify this, and others might try wget |

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessI knew this would happen
![]() Both Content an Profile are still on RC or anything else but they should be on final. I would take care of that in the trunk. Could we recreate the packages then? |

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release Processyes - use the trunk to make those changes. Then, we'll need to retag the branch and recreate the packages

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessTesting the packages right now. The tar is once again a little messed up:
\impresscms_1.2_final.tar.gz\impresscms_1.2_final.tar\impresscms_1.2_final\[all files and foleders] in changelog.txt the revision for the final is blank (Revision:) The zip file is working fine. I've done a fresh installation with it --> without errors ![]() |

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessThe final revision is added as the first commit after the release, since we don't know exactly what that revision will be.
As I mentioned earlier, the tar.gz won't download properly from the impresscms servers using http. |

Re: Starting 1.2 Final Release ProcessCan you give us a day or 2 to get things ready?
a. We need to make sure the profile and content modules are set up as separate projects in addons so they can maintain their own development cycles b. The roadmap shared with the dev team needs to be published c. A release manager needs to be selected, and d. there is some preliminary work already being done to give us a clean start on 1.3 (svn.impresscms.org/core/tasks/impresscms_1.3-optimization) Oh, and First - make cookies and decorate for the holidays with the children and grandchildren! Thanks! |
